A Thousand and One Nights Burger
Portions : 8 - Preparation : 10 minutes - Cooking : 10 to 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 120 ml (8 tablespoons) mayonnaise
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) curry powder
- 800 g (27 oz) medium-lean ground beef
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) cumin seeds, ground
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) coriander seeds, ground
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) sweet paprika
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 8 burger buns
- 8 slices Halloumi cheese
- 4 tomatoes, halved
- 8 red onion rings
- 250 ml (1 cup) traditional coleslaw
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise and curry powder. Reserve
- Preheat the BBQ to maximum.
- Mix meat, cumin, coriander, paprika, garlic and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
- Shape into 8 beef patties. Season with salt and pepper.
- Season the tomatoes with salt and pepper and, on the BBQ grill, grill for 4 to 5 minutes on each side over medium heat.
- At the same time, on the grill, sear the meat patties on each side, then continue cooking indirectly for a few minutes.
- Grill the Halloumi slices for 2 minutes on each side.
- Heat the buns.
- Spread mayonnaise on both sides of each bun, then place a ½ tomato, a meat patty, a slice of Halloumi, an onion ring, some coleslaw and close each bun.
