Chicken and shrimp dumpling

Ingredients

  • 250 ml (1 cup) ground chicken
  • 250 ml (1 cup) shrimp, chopped
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) soy sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) ginger, chopped
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) chives, snipped
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) coriander leaves
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) sesame oil
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Sambal Oelek sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 24 dumpling noodles, round or square
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) canola oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the meat, shrimp, soy sauce, ginger, chives, coriander, sesame oil and hot sauce.
  2. Place a spoonful of filling on each dumpling sheet.
  3. Lightly moisten the edges of the dumpling sheets, close and stick the edges together.
  4. In a hot skillet over medium heat, sear the dumplings for 3 to 4 minutes on one side.
  5. Add 60 ml (4 tbsp.) water, cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
