Old beef clothes

Ingredients

  • 1kg (2 lb) beef scoter
  • 1 l (4 cups) beef broth
  • 250 ml (1 cup) tomato sauce
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) canola oil
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) tomato paste
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, in sticks
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) white wine
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Place meat in a saucepan, add broth, tomato sauce and bay leaf, cover and cook over low heat for 4 hours.
  2. Remove and shred the meat. (The cooking juices will not be used).
  3. In a saucepan, sauté the onion in the oil for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the shredded beef, tomato paste, garlic, bell pepper, white wine and chili pepper, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Serve with rice, fried banana or in a sandwich.
