Creamy caramelized onion sauce
Ingredients
- 2 onions, chopped
 - 2 garlic cloves, chopped
 - 250 ml (1 cup) dry white wine
 - 60 ml (4 tablespoons) maple syrup
 - 1 vegetable or poultry stock cube
 - 5 ml (1 tsp.) herbes de Provence blend
 - 500 ml (2 cups) 35% cream
 - 60 ml (4 tbsp.) olive oil
 - salt and pepper to taste
 
Preparation
- In a hot skillet, sauté onions in a little fat for 2 to 3 minutes.
 - Add garlic, herbes de Provence, maple syrup and broth and cook for 1 minute.
 - Deglaze with white wine and reduce slightly.
 - Add the cream and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes. Check seasoning.
