Pork gyros bbq and tzadiki

BBQ AND TZADIKI PORK GYROS

Portions : 4 - Preparation : 15 minutes - Cooking : 4 minutes

Ingredients

The Tzadiki

  • 250 ml (1 cup) plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, drained and grated
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 10 mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 4 slices Québec pork loin (1" thick)
  • 90 ml (6 tbsp.) olive oil
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) dried oregano
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) thyme
  • 90 ml (6 tbsp) white wine
  • 4 Greek pita breads
  • ½ Boston lettuce
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced

Preparation

  1. Preheat barbecue to high.
  2. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, mint, salt and pepper. Check seasoning. Set this Tzadiki aside in the fridge.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine oil, oregano, garlic, thyme, white wine, salt and pepper. Check seasoning.
  4. Coat pork slices with prepared sauce.
  5. Place pork slices on barbecue grill and grill for 2 minutes on each side.
  6. At the same time, heat the pita breads on the barbecue grill.
  7. Cut meat slices into strips.
  8. Garnish each pita with the tzadiki, salad leaves, red onion, tomato and meat strips.
