Lentils with sausage

Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) fat of your choice (butter, oil or Mycryo cocoa butter)
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 l (4 cups) cooked lentils
- 1 l (4 cups) water
- 1 chicken stock cube
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) sugar
- 8 herbed sausages
- ½ bunch coriander, chopped
- salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat the BBQ to maximum.
- In a saucepan, sauté the onion in the fat of your choice. Add the garlic, bay leaf, celery, tomato, lentils, water, stock cube and sugar. Simmer for 15 minutes. Check seasoning.
- Meanwhile, on the BBQ grill, sear the sausages for 2 minutes on each side. Then continue cooking for 5 to 6 minutes, over indirect heat and with the lid closed.
- Cut the sausages into chunks. Add the sausages and coriander to the lentils and cook for a further 5 minutes. Check seasoning and serve.
