Ingredients
- 450 gr (1 lb) semi-lean ground beef
- 60 ml (4 tbsp) Al’Fez Shawarma sauce
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) bread crumbs
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) parsley leaves, chopped
- 90 ml (6 tbsp) olive oil
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) honey
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 eggplant, cut into thick slices
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 60 ml (4 tbsp) mayonnaise
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) tahini (sesame cream)
- Salt and pepper to taste
The garnish
- Lettuce
- Tomato, sliced
- Onion, sliced
Preparation
- Preheat the barbecue to maximum.
- In a bowl, mix the meat, shawarma sauce, breadcrumbs and parsley.
- Form 4 nice, fairly thin meat patties.
- On the barbecue grill, sear the meat for 2 to 3 minutes on each side and continue cooking if necessary, depending on the desired cooking style.
- In the meantime, in a bowl, mix the olive oil, honey, garlic and a little salt and pepper.
- Generously brush the eggplant slices with the mixture.
- On the grill, in direct cooking, cook the eggplants for 3 minutes on each side and continue in indirect cooking (on the grill but not under the flames), lid closed, for 5 minutes.
- Grill the burger buns.
- In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise and tahini.
- Brush each bun with the mixture.
- When ready to serve, in each bun, divide the meat, eggplant slices, lettuce, tomato and onion slices.
