Thick, firm cookie (cold butter, more flour)

Cookie ferme et épais (beurre froid, plus de farine)

Ingredients

  • 300 g (2 cups + 2 tablespoons) all-purpose flour
  • 125 g (1/2 cup) cold butter, diced
  • 100 g (1/2 cup) brown sugar
  • 100 g (1/2 cup) white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 200 g (1 cup) chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Use cold butter, cut into cubes.
  2. Mix quickly with sugars.
  3. Add egg and vanilla, then dry ingredients. Do not overwork the dough.
  4. Add chocolate chips and shape into thick balls.
  5. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12-14 minutes for cookies that are firm, thick and slightly crisp on the outside.
