Ingredients
- 250 ml (1 cup) bacon, chopped
- 2 breakfast sausages, sliced
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 90 ml (6 tablespoons) maple syrup
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 250 ml (1 cup) sharp cheddar, grated
- 1 pure butter puff pastry (store-bought)
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 190°C (375°F).
- In a hot skillet, brown the bacon. Halfway through cooking, add the sausage rings and onion and cook until browned.
- Add maple syrup and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Check seasoning and let cool.
- In a bowl, mix the mixture with the cheddar cheese.
- On work surface, cut puff pastry into 4” squares.
- In the center of each square, spread the prepared mixture, fold the dough into a triangle and, using a fork, crush the edges of the dough.
- Place the pastry squares on an ovenproof baking sheet lined with a silicone mat, and bake for 25 minutes.
