The Ban Mi sandwich

Ingredients

  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) soy sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) hot sauce
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) hoisin sauce
  • 1 lime, juice
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) honey
  • 1 pork tenderloin
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) mayonnaise
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 90 ml (6 tbsp) coriander leaves

Preparation

  1. Preheat barbecue to high.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hot sauce, hoisin sauce, lime juice and honey.
  3. Grill pork tenderloin for 2 minutes on each side.
  4. Brush pork tenderloin with prepared mixture and cook, indirectly, for 15 minutes.
  5. Brush again halfway through cooking. Remove and cool.
  6. Cut pork tenderloin into thin slices.
  7. Divide mayonnaise, carrot julienne, cucumber, cilantro and pork slices between sandwich buns.
