Shortbread cookie dough

Pâte à biscuits sablés

Ingredients

  • 250 g (1 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 125 g (1/2 cup) cold butter, diced
  • 100 g (1/2 cup) sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, salt and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add the cold butter in pieces and rub between your fingers until you obtain a sandy texture.
  3. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract (optional), then mix quickly to form a ball.
  4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before rolling out and cutting into desired shapes.
