Revisited Shepherd's Pie with Shredded Beef, Char Siu Sauce and Sautéed Bok Choy

Pâté Chinois Revisitée au Bœuf Effiloché, Sauce Char Siu et Bok Choy Sauté

Ingredients

  • 500g shredded beef (pre-cooked)
  • 680g ready-made mashed potatoes
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) char siu sauce
  • 300g chopped bok choy (Chinese cabbage)
  • 1 chopped yellow onion
  • 2 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (or olive oil)
  • Salt, pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. In a hot frying pan over medium heat, heat sesame oil (or olive oil). Add bok choy, chopped onion and garlic, then stir-fry for about 5 to 7 minutes, until vegetables are tender. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, mix the shredded beef with the char siu sauce.
  4. In a baking dish, spread the shredded beef with the char siu sauce in an even layer. Add the sautéed bok choy in a second layer. Cover everything with the mashed potatoes.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 25 minutes, until the top is lightly browned.
