Holiday tree in puff pastry

HOLIDAY TREE IN PUFF PASTRY

Portions : 4 - Preparation time : 15 minutes - Cooking time : 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 120 ml (8 tablespoons) pesto (herb or tomato pesto)
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten with a little water
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) Swiss cheese, grated
  • 12 wooden skewers

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven, rack in center, to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out puff pastry on work surface.
  3. Brush the entire surface with pesto.
  4. Using a knife, cut the puff pastry into strips about ½ inch to ¾ inch wide.
  5. With each strip of pastry, make a Christmas tree and then stick a spike into it.
  6. On an ovenproof tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, arrange the fir trees.
  7. Brush each tree with egg yolk and sprinkle with cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven for around 20 minutes, until golden brown.
