HOLIDAY TREE IN PUFF PASTRY
Portions : 4 - Preparation time : 15 minutes - Cooking time : 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 120 ml (8 tablespoons) pesto (herb or tomato pesto)
- 1 egg yolk, beaten with a little water
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) Swiss cheese, grated
- 12 wooden skewers
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out puff pastry on work surface.
- Brush the entire surface with pesto.
- Using a knife, cut the puff pastry into strips about ½ inch to ¾ inch wide.
- With each strip of pastry, make a Christmas tree and then stick a spike into it.
- On an ovenproof tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, arrange the fir trees.
- Brush each tree with egg yolk and sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake in the oven for around 20 minutes, until golden brown.
