Mashed Potato Timbales Stuffed with Ham and Cheese

Timbales de Purée de Pommes de Terre Farcies au Jambon et Fromage

Ingredients

  • 680 g ready-to-use mashed potatoes
  • 150 g diced ham
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) grated cheese (gruyere, emmental or cheddar)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt, pepper
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) butter for the molds

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and butter individual muffin or ramekin molds.
  2. In a hot skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic in a little butter until soft, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, eggs, ham, cheese, parsley, and onion-garlic mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fill the muffin cups or individual ramekins with the mixture. Smooth the surface.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 20 to 25 minutes, until the timbales are golden brown and firm to the touch.
