Cauliflower wings

Ingredients

  • ½ cauliflower, chopped
  • 500 ml tempura flour
  • 375 ml cold water
  • 1 teaspoon Provençal herbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, puréed
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp sambal olek hot sauce
  • 6 tbsp sweet and sour sauce
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat deep fryer to 375F
  2. In a bowl, whisk tempura flour with water. Add gradually until smooth.
  3. Add turmeric, garlic, sambal olek and Provençal herbs.
  4. Season cauliflower pieces with salt and pepper.
  5. Place in tempura batter.
  6. Place the cauliflower in the deep fryer, piece by piece.
  7. Cook until golden brown.
  8. Add a pinch of salt and serve with a sweet and sour sauce.
