Ingredients
The soft cakes
- 1 apple
- 1 egg
- 60 ml (4 tbsp) sugar
- 60 ml (4 tbsp) melted butter
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) flour
- 5 ml (1 tsp) baking powder
- 1 orange, zest
- 1 pinch of salt
The caramel
- 250 ml (1 cup) sugar
- 60 ml (4 tbsp) butter
- 1 pinch of salt
Preparation
- Preheat the oven, rack in the center to 190 °C (375 °F).
- Peel and cut the apple into small cubes.
- In a bowl, using a whisk, beat the egg.
- Then add the sugar and melted butter.
- Add the flour, baking powder, orange zest and salt.
- Add the apple cubes.
- Line the molds or ramekins.
- In the molds, spread the mixture and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- In the meantime, in a small saucepan, heat the sugar and cook until golden brown.
- Add the butter and salt.
- Spread the caramel on the unmolded cakes.
