Nutella and hazelnut French toast

Serves : 4

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) sugar
  • 375 ml (1 ½ cups) milk
  • 1 lemon, zest
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 250 ml (1 cup) Corn Flakes cereal
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) chopped hazelnuts
  • 4 to 6 slices brioche bread
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) butter
  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) Nutella

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, milk, lemon zest, vanilla and pinch of salt.
  2. In a bowl, crush the cereal into coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the hazelnuts and mix.
  4. Dip each bread cube in the egg-milk mixture, then coat with the prepared breadcrumbs.
  5. In a hot frying pan, brown the 4 sides of the bread in the melted butter, about 2 minutes on each side.
  6. Spread the Nutella on each slice of bread and serve, accompanied by berries.
