FALAFEL BURGER
Portions : 4 - Preparation : 10 minutes - Cooking time : 6 to 8 minutes
Ingredients
- 500 ml (2 cups) chickpeas
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) sesame seeds
- ½ bunch parsley, leaves removed, chopped
- 5 ml (1 tsp.) baking soda
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) ground cumin seeds
- 1 lemon, juice
- 90 ml (6 tbsp) olive oil
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) flour
- 4 burger buns
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) homemade or store-bought mayonnaise
- 4 tomato slices
- 250 ml (1 cup) lettuce, chopped
- Qs canola oil
- salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation
- In the bowl of a food processor or using a hand blender, purée the chickpeas, onion, garlic, sesame seeds, parsley, baking soda, salt and pepper to taste.

- Add olive oil, flour, salt and pepper. Check seasoning.
- Using your hands, shape into 4 patties.
- In a hot skillet, in 1" of canola oil, brown the patties for 3 minutes on each side.
- Top each burger with mayonnaise, a slice of tomato, lettuce and a falafel pea patty.
