Italian-style puff pastry

ITALIAN PUFF PASTRY

Portions : 4 to 6 - Preparation : 10 minutes - Cooking : 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 250 ml (1 cup) homemade tomato sauce
  • 3 pinches oregano
  • Frank's RedHot hot sauce to taste
  • 1 pure butter puff pastry (store-bought)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven, rack in center, to 200° C (400° F).
  2. In a bowl, combine tomato sauce, oregano and hot sauce. Check seasoning.
  3. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the puff pastry.
  4. Spread the prepared sauce over half the pastry and fold the pastry over itself.
  5. Using a knife, cut 1" wide strips and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
