ORANGE CHICKEN

Ingredients
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 250 ml (1 cup) flour
- 250 ml (1 cup) cornstarch
- 700 g (24 oz) Québec chicken breast, in strips
- QS canola oil
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) concentrated orange juice
- 45 ml (3 tbsp.) soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 45 ml (3 tbsp.) ketchup
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Sriracha hot sauce
- 2 green onion stalks, chopped
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) sesame seeds
Preparation
- Prepare two bowls, one containing the beaten eggs and the other the cornstarch-flour mixture.
- Dip the chicken strips in the egg mixture, then in the flour mixture.
- In a hot skillet, brown chicken pieces in hot canola oil until crisp. Set aside on paper towels.
- In another hot skillet, simmer the orange juice, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup and hot sauce for 5 minutes.
- In the sauce, add and coat the crispy chicken strips.
- Just before serving, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
