Shrimp and sesame fried rice

SHRIMP AND SESAME FRIED RICE

Portions : 4 - Preparation : 15 minutes - Cooking : 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 125 ml (½ cup) carrot, finely diced
  • 125 ml (½ cup) red bell pepper, brunoise
  • 125 ml (½ cup) green peas
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp.) canola oil
  • 24 shrimp 31/40, shelled
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) ginger
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Sambal Oelek
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) soy sauce
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) Hoisin sauce
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) sesame oil
  • 4 portions white rice, cooked
  • 125 ml (½ cup) coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation

  1. In a hot skillet or wok, sauté onion, carrot, red bell pepper and peas in canola oil. Add the shrimp, garlic and ginger and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Add the Sambal Oelek sauce, soy sauce, Hoisin sauce and sesame oil.
  3. Add the cooked rice, mix and sprinkle with the coriander.
