Thin apple tart

THIN APPLE TART

Output: 2 thin tarts - Preparation time: 5 minutes - Cooking time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 ball butter puff pastry
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
  • 90 ml (6 tablespoons) sugar
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 lime, zested

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven, rack in center, to 200°C (400°F).
  2. On a work surface, roll out the puff pastry thinly and cut into two equal squares.
  3. Place the pastry squares on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
  4. On each piece of pastry, spread the apple slices, then half (45 ml/3 tbsp) of the sugar, vanilla sugar, zest and butter, and bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the baking sheet and turn the oven to broil.
  6. Spread the remaining sugar and hazelnuts over the top of the tarts and bake for 2 to 3 minutes, until golden brown.
