Fresh goat cheese tartine with stella beer syrup

FRESH GOAT'S CHEESE TARTINE WITH STELLA BEER SYRUP

Portions : 4 - Preparation : 10 minutes - Cooking : 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Stella Artois beer
  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) sugar
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) 35% cream
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) balsamic vinegar
  • 190 ml (3/4 cup) fresh goat's cheese
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 sprig thyme, leaves removed
  • 4 slices farmhouse bread, fairly thick
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 portions green salad

Preparation

  1. Preheat the BBQ to maximum.
  2. In a saucepan, bring beer to a simmer, then add sugar. Reduce for about 10 minutes until syrupy. Add the cream and balsamic vinegar, season and chill.
  3. In a bowl, mix the goat's cheese, olive oil, garlic and thyme. Once the mixture is smooth, spread it on the bread slices.
  4. Place bread slices on BBQ grill. Cook for one minute, then turn off the heat under the slices.
  5. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes on indirect heat.
  6. Just before serving, pour a little of the prepared syrup over the slices and serve with a nice green salad.
