INGREDIENTS
- 45 ml (3 tablespoons) soy sauce
- 5 ml (1 teaspoon) onion powder
- 1 clove garlic, puréed
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) maple syrup
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) canola oil
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) ketchup
- 10 ml (2 tsp.) liquid smoke
- 1 block firm or extra-firm tofu, thinly sliced (3.5 mm)
- Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 200°C (400°F).
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, onion powder, garlic, maple syrup, oil, ketchup, liquid smoke and pepper.
- Add to the mixture and marinate the tofu in the fridge for 3 hours.
- Place the tofu slices on a baking tray lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper, and bake for 18 minutes, the time required to obtain crispy slices on both sides.
