Cooking time : 15 minutes

Servings : 2

Ingredients

  • 1 sirloin steak (approx. 250g)
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) steak spice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) soy sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) butter or oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 burger or submarine buns
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) mayonnaise
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a hot skillet with a little butter or oil, sauté the onion, jalapeño, and garlic until softened. Add the soy sauce and let it caramelize slightly. Set aside.
  2. Season the steak with steak spice. Grill on a hot pan or grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly across the grain.
  3. In a skillet, cook the eggs until the whites are set but the yolk remains runny.
  4. Open the buns and spread the inside with mayonnaise. Add the lettuce, grilled steak slices, sautéed onion mixture, and place a runny egg on top.
  5. Serve immediately.
