Ingredients
- 1 sirloin steak (approx. 250g)
- 10 ml (2 tsp) steak spice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 small jalapeño, minced
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) soy sauce
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) butter or oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 burger or submarine buns
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) mayonnaise
- 4 lettuce leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- In a hot skillet with a little butter or oil, sauté the onion, jalapeño, and garlic until softened. Add the soy sauce and let it caramelize slightly. Set aside.
- Season the steak with steak spice. Grill on a hot pan or grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly across the grain.
- In a skillet, cook the eggs until the whites are set but the yolk remains runny.
- Open the buns and spread the inside with mayonnaise. Add the lettuce, grilled steak slices, sautéed onion mixture, and place a runny egg on top.
- Serve immediately.
