BBQ PORK BANH MI
Portions : 4 - Preparation time : 20 minutes - Cooking time : 6 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 Québec pork tenderloin
- 4 sandwich buns
Marinade for meat
- 60 ml (4 tablespoons) Hoisin sauce
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Sambal Olek
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) lime juice
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) soy sauce
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) ginger, chopped
Vegetable marinade
- 500 ml (2 cups) hot water
- 75 ml (5 tbsp.) sugar
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) salt
- 250 ml (1 cup) rice vinegar
- 1 jumbo carrot, julienned
- ¼ daikon, julienned
Coriander mayonnaise
- 75 ml (5 tbsp.) mayonnaise
- ½ bunch cilantro, leaves removed, chopped
- 1 lime juice
Preparation
- Preheat BBQ.
- Cut pork tenderloin into 1-inch-thick strips.
- In a bowl, combine all marinade ingredients. Add pork and marinate for 5 minutes.
- Sear the pork on the BBQ for 2 minutes on each side. Season to taste.
- Meanwhile, mix water, sugar, salt and vinegar in a bowl.
- Add julienned carrot and daikon and marinate until ready to serve.
- In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, coriander and lime juice.
- Remove bread crumbs. Garnish with mayonnaise, grilled pork and marinated vegetables.
