Ingredients
- 250 ml (1 cup) soft, unsalted butter
- 250 ml (1 cup) sugar
- 250 ml (1 cup) powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch salt
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) bitter almond extract
- 3 ml (1/2 tsp.) ground cinnamon
- 1 lemon, zest
- 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) flour
- 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) almond powder
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, using a mixer, blend the butter, sugar and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg, then the salt, bitter almond extract, cinnamon, lemon zest, flour and almond powder.
- When the mixture is smooth, shape into balls the size of golf balls.
- Place the balls on an ovenproof tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, and set aside in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Then bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Let cool and decorate with powdered sugar.
