Indonesian-style beef

INDONESIAN-STYLE BEEF

Portions : 4 - Preparation and marinating : 10 minutes - Cooking time : about 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 700 g (24 oz) beef flank steak
  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) yellow curry paste
  • 2 kefir lime leaves
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) lemongrass, chopped
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) cinnamon
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) Sriracha sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) ground coriander
  • 3 ml (1/2 tsp.) ground cloves
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) canola oil
  • 250 ml (1 cup) chicken broth
  • 250 ml (1 cup) coconut milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix curry paste, kefir lime, lemongrass, cinnamon, Sriracha sauce, coriander, clove powder and oil. Add and coat the meat with this mixture. Marinate for 5 minutes.
  2. In a hot frying pan, sear the meat for 2 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove the meat, pour the rest of the marinade into the pan, add the stock and coconut milk and reduce until syrupy. Check the seasoning.
  4. Serve with steamed rice.
