Crispy beef with orange and sesame

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 500 ml (2 cups) orange juice
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) honey
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) soy sauce
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) rice vinegar
  • 500 ml (2 cups) snow peas
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) sugar
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) Sriracha hot sauce
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) sesame oil
  • 600 gr (20 ½ oz) flank steak, cut into thin 1/4’’ strips
  • 90 ml (6 tbsp) cornstarch
  • Qs canola oil
  • 4 servings cooked rice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • In a hot skillet, brown the onion in a little oil of canola, 2 minutes.
  • Add the garlic, orange juice, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, snow peas, sugar, hot sauce, sesame oil and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring. The sauce will thicken slightly. Check the seasoning.
  • Meanwhile, in a bowl, add salt, pepper, then add the cornstarch to coat the beef strips.
  • In a frying pan, in 1” of hot canola oil, brown the meat for 2 minutes, until golden brown.
  • In the prepared mixture, add the meat strips.
  • Serve with rice.
