Coconut balls

Ingredients

  • 500 ml (2 cups) desiccated coconut, grated
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) sweetened condensed milk
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) coconut rum
  • 1/2 orange, zest
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 25 hazelnuts, roasted

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, set aside 60-90 ml (4-6 tbsp.) shredded coconut.
  2. In a bowl, blend condensed milk, remaining coconut, rum, zest and salt until stiff. Add more coconut if necessary.
  3. Coat each hazelnut with the prepared mixture to form walnut-sized balls.
  4. Coat balls with reserved coconut instead.
