Beef burger with poached egg, bacon and oka cheese

Ingredients

  • 454 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1.5 ml (1/4 tsp.) garlic powder
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp.) onion powder
  • 4 thick slices Oka cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) white vinegar
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 8 slices cooked bacon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine ground meat, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper, and shape into 4 patties.
  • In a hot ridged skillet, cook meat patties for 4 minutes on each side.
  • On top of each patty, add a slice of cheese and leave to melt for 2 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, break each egg into a ramekin.
  • In a saucepan of simmering water, add vinegar and salt, gently slide each egg into the water and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Using a skimmer, remove each egg and set aside on absorbent paper.
  • For each burger bun, place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a beef patty, two slices of bacon and an egg.
