WITCH'S FINGER COOKIES

Terrifying recipe for witch's finger cookies. Perfect for Halloween.

Yield : 12 - Preparation : 20 minutes - Cooking : 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 g (9 oz) sifted flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 125 gr (4 1/2 oz) powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp.) cold water
  • 1 egg, yolk
  • 125 gr (4 1/2 oz) butter, cubed
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) vanilla extract
  • 1 orange, zest
  • 12 almonds
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) strawberry jam

PREPARATION

  1. In the bowl of a food processor or with a whisk, combine the flour, salt and sugar, then add the water, egg, butter, zest and vanilla, until the dough forms a ball and doesn't stick together.

  2. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  3. Preheat oven, rack in center, to 200°C (400°F).

  4. Cut dough into finger-sized balls.

  5. To make the nail, add 1 almond to the end of each roll.

  6. Shape into phalanges.

  7. Place dough pieces on a silicone-coated baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

  8. Leave to cool.

  9. Dip the end that doesn't have the almond in the strawberry jam.
