Spanish-style shrimp at the bbq

SPANISH-STYLE SHRIMP AT THE BBQ

Portions : 4 - Preparation : 10 minutes - Cooking time : 6 minutes

Ingredients

  • 75 ml (5 tablespoons) olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 7 ml (1/2 tbsp.) mild smoked paprika
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) sugar
  • 1 lemon, juice
  • 12 raw, shelled 16/20 shrimp
  • 4 cherry tomatoes
  • 8 slices mild chorizo, cooked
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) parsley, chopped
  • salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat the BBQ to maximum.
  2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, paprika, sugar, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  3. Add and coat shrimp.
  4. Make skewers, alternating shrimp, cherry tomatoes and chorizo slices.
  5. Place the skewers on the BBQ grill and cook for 2 minutes on one side.
  6. Brush with marinade and cook for 2 minutes on the other side. Continue cooking indirectly for a further 2 minutes.
  7. Just before serving, sprinkle the parsley over the skewers.
