QUEBEC BEEF MACREUSE WITH BEER, MAPLE SYRUP AND MUSHROOMS
Portions : 4 - Preparation time : 5 minutes - Cooking time : 5 hours 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 kg (2.2 lbs) beef macreuse
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 750 ml (3 cups) Rickard's Brown Ale
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 125 ml (½ cup) maple syrup
- 1 l (4 cups) water
- 750ml (3 cups) small button mushrooms
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Place meat in slow cooker, add onion, garlic, beer, bouillon cube, maple syrup and liter of water. Cover and cook for 5 hours.
- Add mushrooms, check seasoning and cook for a further 30 minutes.
- Slice or shred the meat. Serve with rice or pasta.
