PECAN AND MAPLE MOELLEUX
Output: 4 - Preparation time: 15 minutes - Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 90 ml (6 tablespoons) maple syrup
- 120 ml (8 tablespoons) melted butter
- 250 ml (1 cup) flour
- 10 ml (2 tsp.) baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) coarsely chopped pecans
Maple coulis
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) powdered sugar, sifted
- 45 ml (3 tbsp.) dark maple syrup
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 190°C (375°F).
- Whisk eggs in a bowl.
- Add the maple syrup and melted butter.
- Stir in flour, baking powder and salt until smooth.
- Stir in pecans.
- Divide the mixture between 4 ramekins lined with butter and flour, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Leave to cool before unmolding.
- Warm the maple syrup in a microwave oven for 10 seconds.
- In a bowl, mix the sifted powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth.
- Serve the pecan cakes with the prepared maple coulis.
