Spicy noodles

SPICY NOODLES

Portions : 4 - Preparation and cooking time : about 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) hot sauce (Sambal Oelek or Shriracha)
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) sesame seeds
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 120 ml (8 tbsp.) canola oil
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) soy sauce
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) peanut butter
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) sugar
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) rice or white vinegar
  • 4 servings Asian wheat noodles (ramen or other)
  • 90 ml (6 tbsp.) green onion, chopped
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) peanuts, crushed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping

  • 450 g (1 lb) ground beef or pork
  • 2 red peppers, thinly sliced
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp.) sesame oil

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine hot sauce, sesame seeds and garlic.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan, then pour the hot oil over the prepared mixture.
  3. Add soy sauce, peanut butter, sugar, vinegar, a ladleful of noodle cooking water and stir.
  4. Add the cooked noodles and toss.
  5. In a hot frying pan, fry the meat and peppers in sesame oil for 5 minutes, until browned.
  6. On top of the noodles, add the meat mixture, green onion and crushed peanuts.
