SPICY NOODLES
Portions : 4 - Preparation and cooking time : about 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) hot sauce (Sambal Oelek or Shriracha)
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) sesame seeds
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 120 ml (8 tbsp.) canola oil
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) soy sauce
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) peanut butter
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) sugar
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) rice or white vinegar
- 4 servings Asian wheat noodles (ramen or other)
- 90 ml (6 tbsp.) green onion, chopped
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) peanuts, crushed
- Salt and pepper to taste
Topping
- 450 g (1 lb) ground beef or pork
- 2 red peppers, thinly sliced
- 45 ml (3 tbsp.) sesame oil
Preparation
- In a bowl, combine hot sauce, sesame seeds and garlic.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan, then pour the hot oil over the prepared mixture.
- Add soy sauce, peanut butter, sugar, vinegar, a ladleful of noodle cooking water and stir.
- Add the cooked noodles and toss.
- In a hot frying pan, fry the meat and peppers in sesame oil for 5 minutes, until browned.
- On top of the noodles, add the meat mixture, green onion and crushed peanuts.
