Ingredients
4 portions of Quebec beef hanger steak
60 ml (4 tbsp) olive oil
2 onions, thinly sliced
2 red peppers, cut into strips
2 cloves garlic, minced
30 ml (2 tbsp) ginger, minced
45 ml (3 tbsp) curry powder
250 ml (1 cup) coconut milk
30 ml (2 tbsp) maple syrup
60 ml (4 tbsp) coriander leaves, chopped
15 ml (1 tbsp) hot sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
Salt and pepper the meat.
In a hot pan, sear the meat in olive oil for 2 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside on a plate.
In the same hot pan, brown the onions and peppers for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add the garlic, ginger, curry, hot sauce and maple syrup.
Add the coconut milk, meat and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, turning the meat halfway through cooking.
Serve, sprinkled with coriander and accompanied by rice.
