Ingredients
Meat
- 1 kg (5 lb) ground beef
- 60 ml (4 tbsp) fat of your choice (butter, oil or Mycryo cocoa butter)
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) soy sauce
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) tomato paste
- 1 pinch dried thyme
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 5 ml (1 tsp.) sweet paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Mashed potatoes
- 800 g (27 oz) Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) butter
- 250 ml (1 cup) hot milk
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Peas
- 1 l (4 cups) frozen peas
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 5 ml (1 teaspoon) honey
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 190°C (375°F).
- In a frying pan, brown the meat in the fat of your choice for 5 minutes, stirring regularly.
- Add the soy sauce, tomato paste, thyme, onion, garlic and paprika and cook for a further 10 minutes over medium heat, checking the seasoning.
- Meanwhile, cook the potato cubes in a pan of salted water.
- Drain and mash the potatoes very finely. Add the butter, hot milk and nutmeg. Check seasoning.
- In a pot of boiling, salted water, cook the peas, onion and garlic for 4 minutes. Drain and cool in a bowl of iced water.
- Mix drained vegetables and honey in a bowl. Check seasoning.
- In a casserole dish or small individual dishes, place the meat, then the green peas and finally the mashed potatoes, and bake for 20 minutes.
