Pasta with ham and sun-dried tomatoes

Serves : 4

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time : 5 to 8 minutes

Ingredients

  • 250 ml (1 cup) ham, diced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) maple syrup
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) herbes de Provence blend
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) 35% cream
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) white balsamic vinegar
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 6 basil leaves, chopped
  • 4 portions cooked pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a hot frying pan, brown the ham and onion in olive oil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, maple syrup and herbes de Provence and sauté for a further 2 minutes.
  3. Add the cream and vinegar. Check seasoning.
  4. Add the pasta and let it finish cooking in the sauce.
  5. Before serving, add the Parmesan and basil.
