Ingredients
- 450 g (1 lb) ground beef
- 60 ml (4 tablespoons) canola oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) ginger, grated
- 5 ml (1 tsp.) cinnamon powder
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) cumin seeds, ground
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 hot pepper to taste, chopped
- 5 ml (1 tsp.) dried oregano
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) tomato sauce
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) green olives, sliced into rounds
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) fresh coriander, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- In a hot skillet, brown ground beef in canola oil for 5 minutes, until browned.
- Add onion and continue cooking for 2 minutes,
- Add garlic, ginger, cinnamon, cumin, bell pepper, oregano, tomato sauce, olives and cook for 15 minutes over low heat. Check seasoning.
- Add fresh coriander just before serving.
- Serve with rice or potatoes.
