Ingredients
Pastry
- 250 ml (1 cup) sugar
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) butter
- 1 egg
- 60 ml (4 tablespoons) old-fashioned 15% Lactantia cream
- 250 ml (1 cup) flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 orange, zest
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) baking powder
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) natural vanilla essence
The coulis
- 250 ml (1 cup) maple syrup
- 250 ml (1 cup) old-fashioned 15% Lactantia cream
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) natural vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Preparation
- Preheat BBQ to 200°C (400°F), heat on one side only.
- In a bowl, whisk together sugar and butter.
- Add egg, old-fashioned cream and whisk for 1 minute.
- Stir in flour, salt, zest, baking powder and vanilla.
- For the coulis, combine the maple syrup, cream, vanilla extract and salt in a bowl.
- Pour the coulis into a cake tin or cast-iron pan.
- Then add the prepared batter.
- Place the cake tin on the barbecue grill, close the lid and cook for about 35 minutes, depending on the size of the pan.
