Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) milk
- 90 ml (6 tablespoons) mozzarella, grated
- 125 ml (½ cup) sharp cheddar, cubed
- 125 ml (½ cup) feta cheese, cubed
- 1 savoury pie crust (shortcrust pastry)
- 8 slices bacon
- 75 ml (5 tbsp.) maple syrup
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 190°C (375°F).
- Whisk eggs and milk in a bowl.
- Add mozzarella, cheddar, feta, salt and pepper.
- Line a tart tin with the shortcrust pastry. Pour the prepared mixture into the tin and bake for 20 minutes.
- Arrange the bacon slices on top of the quiche. Brush the bacon with maple syrup and bake for a further 10 minutes.
- Turn the oven to broil and leave the quiche in the oven for a few more minutes, until it is nicely colored.
