Cabbage and ground beef roll

CABBAGE AND GROUND BEEF WRAP

Portions : 4 - Preparation : 25 minutes - Cooking : 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 450 g (1 lb) beef, ground
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) fat of your choice (butter, oil or Mycryo cocoa butter)
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 8 slices bacon, chopped and crisped
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) strong mustard
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 250 ml (1 cup) brown rice, cooked
  • 8 Savoy cabbage leaves
  • 250 ml (1 cup) tomato sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven, rack in center, to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a hot skillet, brown the ground beef and onion in the fat of your choice. Add the garlic, bacon, mustard, bouillon cube, cooked rice and 125 ml (½ cup) water, and let everything brown lightly. Set aside.
  3. Meanwhile, in a pot of boiling water, blanch the cabbage leaves for 1 minute.
  4. Pat the cabbage leaves dry in a cloth.
  5. On the work surface, spread the prepared mixture in the center of each leaf and roll up the leaf.
  6. Arrange the rolls in a gratin dish, top with tomato sauce and bake for 25 minutes.
