QC Roast Beef Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 Québec beef cross-rib roast
  • 3 onions, chopped
  • 1 beef bouillon cube or 2 tablespoons beef bouillon concentrate
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1 lb melted butter
  • 375ml dark beer

Sandwich :

  • 4 sandwich loaves
  • 4 to 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • Qs Mayonnaise
  • Qs strong mustard

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 325F
  2. In a small roasting pan or casserole.
  3. Add beer, butter, horseradish, onion, garlic, syrup and bouillon cube.
  4. Cover and bake for 6 hours.
  5. Shred the meat. Remove onions.
  6. Top sandwiches with mayonnaise and mustard, add meat and cheese.
