Smoked Meat de betterave

"BEET SMOKED MEAT

Portions : 4 - Preparation time : 5 minutes - Cooking time : 75 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 beets, peeled, thinly sliced
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) vegetable broth
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 8 ml (1/2 tbsp.) smoked liquid
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) tamari sauce
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) Worcestershire sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Montreal steak spices
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp.) sugar
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) white vinegar
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) olive oil
  • 4 yellow mustard sandwich buns
  • Salt and pepper to taste

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat oven, rack in center, to 160°C (325°F).

  2. In a casserole dish, combine beets, broth, garlic, smoked liquid, tamari sauce, Worcestershire sauce, steak spices, sugar, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper, cover and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove the beet slices.

  3. Spread the mustard on each bun, and arrange the beet slices on top.
