"BEET SMOKED MEAT

INGREDIENTS
- 8 beets, peeled, thinly sliced
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) vegetable broth
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 8 ml (1/2 tbsp.) smoked liquid
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) tamari sauce
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) Worcestershire sauce
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Montreal steak spices
- 45 ml (3 tbsp.) sugar
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) white vinegar
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) olive oil
- 4 yellow mustard sandwich buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
PREPARATION

Preheat oven, rack in center, to 160°C (325°F).

In a casserole dish, combine beets, broth, garlic, smoked liquid, tamari sauce, Worcestershire sauce, steak spices, sugar, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper, cover and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove the beet slices.

Spread the mustard on each bun, and arrange the beet slices on top.
