Mexican Sirloin Steak

MEXICAN-STYLE SIRLOIN STEAK

Portions : 4 - Preparation : 15 minutes - Marinade : 5 minutes - Cooking time : about 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 60 ml (4 tablespoons) lime juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) chili powder
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) fresh coriander, chopped
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) olive oil
  • 4 sirloin steaks, each about 180 g
  • salt and pepper to taste

Side dish

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) fat of your choice (butter, oil or Mycryo cocoa butter)
  • 1 pinch oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the lime juice, garlic, chili, coriander and olive oil. Add the meat and marinate for 5 minutes.
  2. In a hot frying pan, over medium heat, sear the meat for 3 minutes on each side. Continue cooking if necessary.
  3. Meanwhile, in another hot pan over high heat, sauté the onion, garlic and peppers in the fat of your choice. Cook for 2 minutes, then add the oregano and check the seasoning.
