Stir-fried tofu and bean sprouts

Ingredients

  • 500 ml (2 cups) extra firm tofu, cubed
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) canola oil
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) soy sauce
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) oyster sauce, vegetarian
  • 750 ml (3 cups) bean sprouts
  • 1 Bird's eye chili, seeded and finely chopped
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp) sesame oil
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) Chinese chives
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a wok, sauté the tofu cubes in the canola oil for 4 to 5 minutes.
  2. Add the onion and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, bean sprouts, chili, sesame oil, chives and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Check seasoning.
